Amridil Kasbah | ⴰⵎⵔⵉⴷⵉⵍ

The Kasbah on the 50 DH

In contrast to many kasbahs, Amridil remains well-preserved and is still managed by the grandchildren of its original builder, MHAMED NACIRI EL HASKOURI, who was the son of Ahmed Bennacer, the founder of Zaouia Naciria in Tamgroute. Constructed in the 17th century as an Islamic school, known in Morocco as a Zaouia, to teach the Quran, Amridil stands as a must-see landmark in Ouarzazate today. Guided tours are available, offering insights into the kasbah’s history and showcasing various traditional tools used in daily life.

For those traveling to the Merzouga desert, a quick stopover to visit the kasbah is recommended. If planning to spend the day exploring the Skoura oasis, there are numerous places to visit, including opportunities for walking or horseback riding.

How to get to Amridil ?
